Book Review: Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated Circuits

Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated Circuits

Analysis and Design of Analog Integrated Circuits by Gray and Hurst

(Disclaimer: I used the 4th edition of the book, rather than the current 5th edition)

Having used this book for one of my analog circuits classes, I would say this book is fairly difficult. I would recommend this book to either a graduate student or an advanced undergraduate student. There are not many solved problems in the book. Instead, the book has a lot of mathematical derivations and explanations for how these devices operate. However, if you can get past the difficulty, this book is a great reference for any student or professional who truly wants to master analog circuit design. Many consider this book to be the best in the field, however I must reiterate that I do not recommend this book to a beginner. Personally, I found the theory to be fairly difficult to go through at the time. But, if you have a good professor or simply have the desire to truly master analog circuit design, I highly recommend this book, or an older edition of this book.

Welcome

Hi, I've created this site as a way to explain some of the difficult concepts I've encountered while getting my degree. This blog will cover many topics, including systems engineering, analog and digital circuits, microelectronics, and more. I will also include links to other resources, and reviews of books I have used during my studies. Check back soon for new content.
